Based on the Central Coast of NSW, Kate is a clinically registered Counsellor with PACFA, Accredited EMDR practitioner (full member of EMDRAA) and Victims of Crime Counsellor specialising in mental health support for men, women and young adults 12 and up to resolve trauma, anxiety, depression, and deeply rooted stress using evidence -based techniques to foster resilience and emotional relief.

This practice prides itself on providing a person centered, strengths based, trauma informed and neuro affirming space that specialises in helping individuals process and heal from the past while building resilience for the future. Using EMDR therapy, a proven method for addressing trauma and emotional distress, clients can gently reprocess difficult memories, reduce emotional pain, and rediscover inner peace.

Kate's areas of special interest include Womens Mental Health, Perinatal Mental Health and EMDR therapy.

Kate offers face to face sessions from the Coastal Wellness Cottage in East Gosford as well as Telehealth and phone sessions Australia wide by appointment Monday to Friday.

In person sessions are conducted within the beautiful Coastal Wellness Cottage in East Gosford. Kate Landete Counselling is set up in a spacious, warm and welcoming room filled with natural light and facing the gardens out the back of the cottage.

Access confidential, judgement free, professional support online. Making it easy and flexible to contact your counsellor no matter where you are, from the comfort of your own home, workspace, on holidays, anywhere you have internet access.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a therapy that works on the premise that when a person is distressed, the brain does not process information the way it should. EMDR is designed to help individuals process and overcome distressing memories, particularly those related to trauma. It involves bilateral stimulation, often through side-to-side eye movements, to facilitate the reprocessing of traumatic experiences. The goal is to reduce the emotional intensity of memories and replace negative beliefs with more adaptive ones, leading to symptom relief and emotional healing. EMDR can help with:
